Student Volunteer Opportunities

Your Voice

We believe student voices are essential in our mission and are a strong voice for how a new public aquatic center fits into the social infrastructure of the community.

A new public aquatic center will become a place of opportunity and community connection for generations, so the voice of students today will ensure that they will have a facility that meets their needs and those of the future.

Volunteer Positions

The following are ways students can volunteer with SPLASHForward and help us build momentum to bring new public aquatic facilities to our region.

We can modify our volunteer positions to meet your availability and interest. We are also open to your suggestions. Please reach out to express interest and discuss how to best get involved.

All volunteer positions are eligible to receive community service volunteer hours. Contact: info@splashforward.org for verification.

Student Ambassador

Help us create awareness within your school about our efforts and the many benefits to students and families with a new public aquatic community center.

You will help us share information, come up with creative ways to raise awareness, and participate in community meetings that we hold.

Aquatics Student Reporter

Do you like to write? Meet other students and share their stories?

Be a writer for our newsletter and online social media to capture the ‘water stories’ of local students. Help us tell the stories for how access to aquatics impacts the lives of students.

This includes identifying students to profile, conducting interviews, capturing photos and video, writing short articles, and regular meetings with SplashForward to discuss story focus, timelines for story delivery, and developing ways to engage students around the water stories.

HS Lifeguard Training Program Ambassador

We are looking for several students who would be interested in helping plan, participate in, and create awareness of workshops and information sessions for our High School Lifeguard Training Program.

Involvement would include planning meetings and participating in the actual workshop and information sessions with interested students.

We are planning one to two virtual workshops in early April. There will also be an in-person workshop with Boys and Girls Clubs of Bellevue in April.

If this sounds interesting or you want to find out more, please fill out this short survey. We will follow up with you. Planning kicks off in March.

Student Voice and Advocate for Environmental Sustainability

If you have an interest in environmental sustainability and want to represent the student voice and perspective for the environmental sustainability goals for a new public aquatic center, we’d like to have you join us in the very early visioning and goal setting process.

You will review and provide input as we refine goals, engage with us and local engineers, understand how they map to the City of Bellevue’s Environmental Stewardship Plan, learn about environmental building standards, and participate in stakeholder engagement events.

Approx Hours: 2 hrs a month

Student Voice and Advocate at the WA State Level

If you have an interest in government relations and want to take a leadership role in representing the student voice and perspective in our State Awareness planning, we’d like to have you join us as we begin to create relationships with our district representatives and senators.
